Default [Space] Many races in one star system

Hi! I was created trinary star system for campaign, and wanted to "populate" it, but p.121 says:
Quote:
This book assumes that one world – the main world – in each star system will be settled first, and that any later settlements in the star system will be secondary colonies established from the first one.
How should I use "society parameters generator" if I want also native intelligent races of Venus, Mars, and other planets (for example)? I'm completely n00b in sci-fi, this is my first campaign so I don't even know how to start (this worldbuilding generators are GREAT help!)

It's easy - just treat all the planets with native life as main worlds. The whole process for secondary worlds is just to see if a spacefaring race has also colonized those.

If you want, once you've placed your main worlds, you could then go through the process for secondary worlds for the other worlds in the system for each race, and roll to see if they've tried to colonize those worlds.

The word "settled" means that the world's people didn't evolve on that world, but came there from somewhere else. It's like the way a lot of SF envisions human beings going out through the solar system or the galaxy and founding colonies. So you can talk about the "main settlement" and "secondary settlements." But if the intelligent race evolved on that world in the first place, that distinction doesn't apply.

In fact, if you want to keep things simple, you could figure the carrying capacity of each world for its native race and tech level, and assume that that's its population. In the long run the population will be in that range—unless they overpopulate, crash the ecosystems, and go to zero population!

It's worth bearing in mind that you can have worlds sustainably above carrying capacity just having them be predominantly live in desperate poverty for their tech level.

Of course, population only reaches equilibrium if everything else remains stable, which isn't actually all that likely for things with the generation length of sapient beings.
