Munchkin Harry Potter
So Munchkin Harry Potter is going to be released. On www.worldofmunchkin.com, it stated that it blends well with Munchkin Spell Skool. Will it have the standard Munchkin door-treasure backs, or new backs?

MHP has new backs. The blend is thematic, not a literal "shuffle everything together and you can't tell what cards come from which set."

Re: Munchkin Harry Potter
The fronts will definitely be identifiable. No illustrations but actual stills from the movies. I guess that's cool (not really my thing, but my preference is irrelevant). I'm thinking the "map of Hogwarts" is akin to the Marauder's Map so that has some cool potential.
Anyway, I'll have to get this for my wife since HP is her thing. |

Re: Munchkin Harry Potter
Movie stills will look odd to me, at least at first, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. We'll almost certainly be getting it. (Though I will say that personally I'd rather see an expansion of Spell Skool, rather than an actual licensed Harry Potter Munchkin. I still think parody suits Munchkin better in most cases than direct licensing. Though I'd be kidding myself if I didn't acknowledge that REAL Harry Potter is likely to sell much better, and so is the smarter choice for SJGames, given that they can pull it off.)
I'm also intrigued by the "Dueling Club" deckbuilder they announced. We love Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle (though we passed on Monster Box of Monsters since it seemed to be mainly for people who wanted to make the game a lot harder, which wasn't us), and another similar game, even if it is competitive rather than co-operative, will definitely get serious consideration from us. Ha, wow. I initially clicked on this thread thinking it was a suggestion thread. I was gonna say something like "Doubt that will happen since they only recently released Spell Skool."

Same! And that is awesome news, SJ Games. Your license game is strong; teaming up with USAopoly was a genius move.

They've been a fantastic partner these past few years! We're glad we get to keep working with them on these great new games.

Really hoping for a Game of Thrones version! Some light-hearted jokes about Game of Thrones would be very funny.
