ATR & Guns?
Does ATR(Altered Time Rate) affect the ROF?
I.E. Can I fire a pistol during each level of ATR? |

I don't have it with me, so I can't give you a page reference, but High-Tech specifically addresses this, IIRC.

Re: ATR & Guns?
Gun Fu isn't a set of general rules. I can imagine a Gun Fu character having a ridiculous RoF, because, well, Gun Fu is about ridiculous magical behavior with guns. Realism is for other genres. So, in the context of GF, ATR might well be able to speed up the RoF of a device. I'm not sure that makes it a general rule.
Can someone with ATR do twice the calculations on their computer because time is warped for it? Can they send network packets twice as fast (the receiving end presumably isn't in their ATR field -- or is it? Can they make Christmas cookies in half the time? Hm, maybe that's how all the TV chefs manage to pull cooked dishes out of the oven right after they put them in. If so, can the electric company detect the sudden increase in power draw from their electric oven whenever they walk into the room? If they have lights on, do the lights become twice as bright? If the ATR hero is trying to defuse a bomb, does it count down twice as fast when he gets near it? Okay, at least that's a wash if he moves twice as fast as well. What if his teammate is the demolition expert? You get the idea; there's quite a can the of worms in the notion that ATR projects a field around you that speeds up time for all inanimate objects. In Gun Fu, the gun is part of the character. It might as well be an Innate Attack. It can be treated as a special case. |

Re: ATR & Guns?
And with the Superspeed enhancement, reloading the guns is a breeze. :)

Yes to all though your numbers are abit on the conservative side. See the Super Speed enhancement for ATR in Powers.

This sort of thing has come up before. I think Kromm's ruling was that you have to choose if things inside, on, or carried by you get warped when you buy the advantage.

Re: ATR & Guns?
Especially for semi-autos, it's perfectly realistic for them to do higher rate of fire on most firearms. What's the cyclic rate on that full auto glock pistol? 17 rounds a seconds? There's nothing mechanically that prevents semi-autos from firing that fast aside from your ability to pull the trigger.
