Default B.A.D.D. is coming back!

B.A.D.D. is Bothered About Dungeons & Dragons.

And the Mormons (well, one mormon at the Mormon Times) are prepared to take up the cause.

Apparently, Dungeons & Dragons is a "popular video game" and can cause "addictions." I wonder what the symptoms are. And this guy has a craze for alliteration - "magic and divination" vs. "majesty of the divine", "fantasy for faith", "mysticism with the miraculous", "spiritualism with spirituality."

We have Mormons here and I have nothing against you. Can't you try to correct this crap? Write to the MT or something?

Thread moved because it's about an industry issue.

"Just because something gyrates for attention doesn't mean we should pay attention"

That phrase alone just kacked a biscuit all over his own argument as far as I'm concerned. That kind of [thing] has been going on since our parents were kids.

-mind you, for me, it also depends on how much clothing is involved with the gyrating. ;)

[rewrite removed.] **won't happen again. TYVM for the moderation :) it's all good.**

I respect religion, the people around me and even those who don't wish to respect me. [edit] I guess I'm just tired of defending myself from those kinds of people.

I'm also not sure he realizes how the audience has changed since the 1980s. Back then, a lot of parents didn't know much about D&D or RPGs in general. These days, many of them have played D&D at least once or known someone who did -- maybe not a majority, but certainly a substantial minority. It's much harder to scare an informed audience.

He should have said "World of Warcraft." Or "Pokemon."

What the heck is " FUD " ?

By-the-way , most of the Mormons I know play D&D or have played it in the past - including a frequent poster on these forums.

I met the Mormons I know by playing GURPS with them. :)

And they certainly played D&D before that (and they still play Pathfinder between GURPS sessions).

*shrug*

Let's try to avoid religion-bashing here, please, and stay on the topic. If you can't speak to it without flaming, then you may want to find somewhere else to post your opinions.
