Default GURPS 4th edition 15th anniversary

I just realized GURPS 4th edition has had it's 15th anniversary. I just think it's neat with all the changes over the last 15 years and other RPGs going thru multiple edition updates GURPS is still going strong with the same edition. I was wondering if SJGames had anything planned for this occasion.

As a fun game I was wondering for those out there in GURPS land what would be your top three 3rd edition books (besides Vehicles) you would love to see updated to 4th edition and why? I will start off:

1. GURPS Cliffhangers: Easily my favorite 3rd edition book. Well written and informative. I have always enjoyed the "cliffhanger" genre. GURPS does low level, gritty action so well that I think this genre was tailored made for GURPS. I know there is a pyramid article that updates cliffhangers ( I have that copy) but I would still like to see an updated version of the original book.

2. GURPS Conan: Another genre (and setting) I think was tailored made for GURPS. In my opinion the best swords and sorcery setting out there with broad appeal. This would be really awesome if it was updated to a "powered by GURPS" edition similar to the very well done Disc World hard back.

3. GURPS Old West: Also a well written and informative book. Another genre that GURPS just does so well. One of those settings that can have a massive amount of detail in characters and settings that the GURPS skill based system just does perfectly.

I am in total agreement. As much as I would love Old West or Cabal, I will take a new Compendium any day.

Put that on Kickstarter and I'll bankrupt myself.

Put me down for
- Compendium
- A new world book (along the lines of Celtic Myth, Vikings, Greece, China etc)
- Basic set, (one book, not too much content)

I'll add some of the successes I have had with fourth edition as well.
- Game of thrones, politics, mass combat and martial arts.
- LitRPG.
- Denizens of the Dark Horde, because evil minions need love too.
- Over the stars and far away, WW1 themed sci-fi.
- Immortal elves, a game thats writing the myths for the world its set in.

My choices:
1. Wild Cards (or IST; I ain't that picky)
2. Vikings (with Icelander's ships write-ups)
3. Cliffhangers.

And while we're at it, let's add a book that was never made but should have been:

4. Middle Ages 2: The Holy Roman Empire.

One thing we need to ask is there really enough to warrant an update?

This is a prime example. In terms of mechanics there really isn't enough that needs an update

While it would be nice to see an update (especially given the more flexible magic systems we have now) it wouldn't surprise me if this wasn't tied up in some form of licensing morass and the cost of getting the license for a new version is prohibitively high.

IMHO, the only thing that really needs an overhaul here is the weapon tables (especially guns).

My first vote is always Vehicles.

Still, I would like to see all of the GURPS Aliens aliens updated and integrated with a single setting.

Some solitaire adventures would be nice.

Maybe a fourth edition boxed set with paper covers, battle maps, and Cardboard Heroes?
