Question about "Power of Sorcery" from Pyramid #3/63.
http://www.warehouse23.com/products/...nite-worlds-ii
Is the method of advantage-based spellcasting from this issue different from the one in "Thaumatology: Sorcery"? Is there a reason to have both? (Assume for the purpose of this question that the rest of the Pyramid issue is irrelevant.) |

Re: Question about "Power of Sorcery" from Pyramid #3/63.
There are some detail differences that I've noticed that wouldn't mean much in play, and the book has different spells detailed in it, making having both possibly useful.
There may be something I've missed, though - I haven't done any point-by-point comparison of the two.

Thaumatology: Sorcery was written after the Pyramid article attracted a large following. It is the revised and improved version.

Re: Question about "Power of Sorcery" from Pyramid #3/63.
The one thing the article contains that Thaumatology: Sorcery doesn't is an extensive selection of spells from the Fire College - they were used as the example spells in the article. Thaumatology: Sorcery has a couple spells from each college, including a couple of Fire spells, but if you want more, the article is the place to get them.

Re: Question about "Power of Sorcery" from Pyramid #3/63.
I think I've found the primary difference - the Pyramid version is rather slower at improvising spells, which makes that version of Sorcery somewhat weaker in time-limited situations.
