Default Incomprehensible order for Elder Things

I like Elder Things in DF and Call of Cthulhu. I know that Nyarlathotep is called the Crawling Chaos but what if instead of true chaos he was really ordered but his order was of an extradimensional nature which is incomprehensible to those of the DF realm. In this case Elder Things would be beings of order that appear to those in the DF realm to be random or chaotic. When rituals are preformed when the stars are right, they access energies from other dimensions and and create openings in the fabric of reality. The rituals do not make sense but they access an extradimensional order that is so high compared to the DF realm that it is incomprehensible. Rituals must be performed in exact sequences to function properly. It would not be chaos where anything goes but a sort of super order that the Elder Things are composed of and come forth from.

I like to think of Elder Things as existing in four-dimensional space. Because we exist three-dimensional space, what is order for them is only perceived as chaos by us because we are not equipped to perceive the fourth spatial dimension.

I think this fits quite well.

That could make an out of the way strange location to us seem like a nice crossroad for them. It's a hub to more interesting locations that just happens to land in our local space-time.

No real change other than background philosophy.
