Default Damage Reduction and Afflictions

Maybe I'm stupid but I can't find if the one has any effect on the other. Yet since DR has it seems logical that they would interact. Help?

IT(DR) has no effect on afflictions.

That's Damage Resistance, not IT:DR. It almost tripped me up, too.

It would have saved a lot of confusion if it was Damage Divisor instead of Damage Reduction ;)

Not really because it not Damage Reduction, it's Injury Tolerance (Damage Reduction), as such DR never means Damage Reduction, but always
Damage Resistance.

Note Combat Reflexes and crushing damage never gets mixed up despite crushing's official abbreviation is cr.

because they aren't analouges of each other. Its the difference between subtraction and division, and they have 2/3 of the word in common

damage re duction
damage re sistance

Agreed. Which is why IT:DR became common usage.

Also, what GURPS calls Damage Resistance is called Damage Reduction in that other game.
