Re: Memorable Quotes.
Brand-new supers game; one of our party members is a Tony Stark wannabe (in-character, even; he's a super-genius who's deliberately modelled himself after Iron Man).
In any case, the party is at a wake for a recently fallen redshirt... er, member of our team, and our GM starts setting the scene. GM: "So you're holding your nice little Scotch on the rocks—" Tony Stark Wannabe: "No I'm not. I'm holding a cup." |

Re: Memorable Quotes.
Fantasy game, a different one than my last post. Hero System, for the record.
One of our hand-to-hand specialists is basically a medieval Drunken Master, he's got combat skill levels that only apply if the character has been drinking. We're fighting in and around a ruined fort, and just discovered that there's a giant crocodile in the moat. Angus (the PC in question) was going to throw a goblin in the water to distract the croc, rolled an 18, then fumbled a DEX check almost as badly. End result, Angus ends up in the water, still holding on to the goblin, and the croc is about to attack. Angus' player asks if he can shove the goblin in front of him as a literal meat shield. Another player promptly said "But goblins taste yucky, and Angus tastes like a rum ball!" |

Re: Memorable Quotes.
In character, from my 13 year old nephew who wanted to continue the hot pursuit deeper into the dungeon while the others wanted to pause to level up (which I allow mid-game): "We can level up in Hell!"
We're taking a break for about an hour right now and have an In Nomine game going. I use a lot of material swiped from the French version and some real-world legends, not the least of which is that in the French version, Janus is definitely a double-agent, working as Valefor in Hell. In the real world, Janus is also known as Bifrons. From a short story somewhere on this site, Kobal repented and is now back among the Heavenly Host. From multiple places, Janus and Michael are "brothers in all but blood", to quote "Elfquest", but Janus never mentioned his double life as Valefor or his now suspected triple life as Bifrons. Since we were just goofing around while waiting for the pizza (and one player) to arrive, we were half-acting out the Superiors knocking back drinks. Michael was clearly bothered by the Janus=Bifrons thing. The player who was running Kobal patted the player who was running Michael on the back and told him he should just "let Bifrons be Bifrons..."

Savannah: “I can worry [with a bite] as a free action.” Bobby (OC): “I’ve been worrying as a free action since we got here.” Heaven: “I’ve tried to kill him a couple of times.” Wolf: “Why did you try to kill him more than once?” Heaven: “Because it didn’t take the first time!” Savannah: “Is Aven still pregnant?” GM: “You’ll have to wait for the test to come back.” Savannah: “I’ll just turn into a mouse and go up her cooter.” Johnny: “I’m going to leave.” Nyko (OC): “Make a squeamishness check.” Bobby (OC): “I think I’m going to have to make a squeamishness check." Savannah: “Remember, the whiskers tickle.” |

Me: Um does having a giant snake help with an intimation check?
Gm: Not in this town. (From some one-shot pathfinder game, terrible session in my opinion but this line sticks out to me for some reason.) |

One of our players kibitzing OOC:
“Hey, you guys know how the Big Bad Evil Guy always kidnaps the beautiful heroine and the hero rescues her and kills the villain, and how any smart villain should know better than to do that? It's totally not the villain's fault, man! Everyone knows just how addictive heroine is!” |
