An alternative look at super-fast character creation. Especially useful for PCs in one-shots, or just whenever the GM doesn't have a lot of time.

I've whipped up a very simple Character Sheet for use with my Quick-Creation rules... the front has the character sheet itself and a summary of those rules; the back has a list of Maneuvers, Attack/Defense Options, and Hit Locations.

Should be a handy one-page for new GURPS players!

In the last 72 hours, I've seen three different GMs asking about introducing GURPS to their players, so I made a post about it with my best advice.

BONUS: First post of 2015!

For experienced role players I far prefer the skip the kiddy pool, skip the shallow end, skip the deep end, plunge into the Article ocean in the middle of s thunderstorm and frolic with the icebergs here are optional rules and optional options scattered across fifty books sink or swim approach

This avoids the risk of 'so uhm, it was okay . . . but it seems I played a normal human with a sword doing normal human with swords things, which I could have easily done in the ten systems I already know how to play'

In honor of an entire Pyramid issue about combat (woot!), some quick tips on using different color/size combinations of dice to speed up combat (for example, by generating your skill check, damage, and target's defense all in a single throw).

Dice! Who doesn't love dice? Emphasis on d6s, for obvious reason.

Nice!

I'm going to update my RPG.net signature to link to that, instead of linking directly to the GURPS Lite entry at Warehouse23.

The big thing I think is missing in your example character is Animal Handling (Cattle). It's really his most important professional skill. If you were building him as an outlaw who rode around shooting people and taking there money, he'd be fine, but handling cattle is his job. I'd want to make the point right at the outset that a GURPS character inhabits a world and has a function in it.

(Animal Handling is in GURPS Lite, isn't it? If not, forget I said anything.)

This may not bother a lot of people, but it would bother me a lot.
