Has anyone made their own rituals for Path/Book magic?
Pretty much what it says on the tin. Still fairly subtle magic, but expanded to include new areas.

Re: Has anyone made their own rituals for Path/Book magic?
I've made a few for my fantasy setting. First off, there's the Path of Planar Travels, originally posted not long after Thaumatology was released.
One other is a ritual in a very secretive Book, "The Deepest Mysteries of the One True God": Quote:
Hope this helps! But just remember: The warnings come after the spells. – Doctor Strange

There's this whole thread. Some rituals are more subtle than others.

Yes. I've made up both new paths/books and new rituals for my Tapestry campaign, with each race having its own typical paths.

Quote:
Path/Book derives from GURPS Voodoo and has a list of rituals, but does not have a ritual-design system. Ritual Path Magic originated in GURPS Monster Hunters, and is based on a ritual design system.

Interesting. Do you have them available to share?

Re: Has anyone made their own rituals for Path/Book magic?
I've got some ideas.
The first two would be generic "placeholder" Rituals for areas not covered in Thaumatology. They would be things like "Activate Special Item" and "Activate Place Magic". There are many fictional exemplars. "Drawing the Sword from the Stone" probably does not qualify but setting up the "Sword in Stone Test" might. Another one would be the "Siege Perilous" in Andre Norton's Witch World. Generally these Rituals would cover Items or Places whose effects are not describable by other Rituals.

They'd take up too much space to post here, I think. Private message me with your e-mail and I can send you the documents.
