Pyramid #3/109: Thaumatology V
Fans of the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game are already aware of Pyramid magazine thanks to the three issues dedicated to it: #3/104, #3/106, and #3/108. This is a heads up to let you know that Pyramid #3/109: Thaumatology V contains a new professional template for the DFRPG. For the full scoop, check out PK's post here!

So if a mage hunter with higher purpose see's another PC using magic for selfish reasons... Is it going to end bad?

Re: Pyramid #3/109: Thaumatology V
Well, Sense of Duty (Adventuring Companions) might intervene, as it has special dispensation to override everything. But yeah, if a zealot mage-hunter without loyalty to the adventuring party decides that a spellcaster in the group has been unrepentantly self-serving, things could end badly. It's a variation on the theme of the delver with Honesty vs. the thief who wants to pickpocket and shoplift in town.

Re: Pyramid #3/109: Thaumatology V
Has anyone made and/or played a Mage-Hunter yet?
I created one and added it to my pool of Pregens for my ongoing DFRPG game, but was curious to see if any had hit the map yet. |

I was noodling around with a sample one. I'll finish it up and post it.

Only thing missing were Mage-Hunter Lenses for other classes like Knight, Swashbuckler or Barbarian.
That would be very nice if anyone has examples of such lenses. I especially see a Knight Mage-Hunter Lens being very useful. |

Re: Pyramid #3/109: Thaumatology V
I have a player using it now, we're playing "Against the Rat-men". Thus far his mage hunter specific abilities haven't come into play too much, although he did get to use Dispel Magic against some brain ratmen.
I allowed him to make a Shadow Elf (from GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 3: The Next Level) Mage Hunter, so by necessity his Selective Magic Resistance was modified to Improved Selective Magic Resistance so as to co-exist with his built-in Magery 0. It's expensive (7 points/level), but worth it from his perspective.
