What's the best interactive character sheet?
Looking around the web, it seems there are only a small handful besides the builders. I'm looking for a .pdf form that I can fill out on my laptop, but so far I haven't found any really good ones. Anyone know of some good ones?

Re: What's the best interactive character sheet?
The best ones are usually the ones you make yourself, as far as interactive ones go. I usually prefer Excel, but that's always up to you. (I think you can export to PDF format too for printing if need be...)
For electronic ones that you can fill in, esp in PDF format, they are pretty sparse. I never really liked PDFs with fill-in spots, they always looked kind of funky. I did a search on the internet, and all of the PDFs I found were fixed, so no typing. =( |

There is one, with automated point-calculation. Will upload if needed. But it's not very good, as it's only two pages and I find myself needing more often.
There's a great one in my GURPS: Starcraft project, but it only really works for that setting, and it needs word and two fonts to be interactive.

Kind of funny as just yesterday I found a Google Docs spreadsheet for a GURPS character sheet.

Its a bit more of a heavy weight solution but there's GCS, a character builder written in Java.

Re: What's the best interactive character sheet?
Do you intent to use your laptop during play? If so, why not use GCA.
I always have GCA opened during my sessions and have the players put into a party file which opens directly all character sheets. I also have all the NPCs opened with GCA. And you know the calculations are done right. I always found those custom pdf/excel sheets faulted. Either they din't cover every detail or some items are left out, mostly because the creators made them for their setting. |

Well, I need this specific sheet to be printed out. Normally I'd use my laptop, but for my next game the GM has banned the use of computers.

Re: What's the best interactive character sheet?
Because a printed sheet isn't interactive anymore, use GCA. You can print it in a few different files (pdf, txt) and with different options (e.g., separate spell list).
You can also change the sheets layout to your own preference. |

Re: What's the best interactive character sheet?
That'll be GCB, since this particular game will be in 3rd ed. But yeah, I'll probably use that.

Re: What's the best interactive character sheet?
If you check http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/resources.html, there are some links to 3rd edition character sheets... aaaaand http://www.sjgames.com/general/gm-aids.html#gurps -- I strongly suspect some of those are old enough that they're 3rd edition.
You're probably fine with GCB, but if you hadn't seen those resources and feel like poking at them... Well, now you know where they are! O:>
