That's a very good question. Songs of Fruition (LibCant) are for reproducing with a corporeal being.

Huh. EPG does not contain one instance of reproduction or reproduce. Offspring in only mentioned in certain affinities promoting corporeal birth. No use of baby in a reproductive sense.

However, every instance of the word spawn references human imagination (p4, 10, 22, 80, 82), human legends (p19, 78, 116, 129), or from Domains influenced by humans (p10, 78, 116, 120).

So, unless our Esteemed Line Editor (tm), or another source, like The Marches, says otherwise, I think we have an answer: ethereals are spawned from human's imagination, whether dreamscapes or legends. Other ethereals or celestials may *aid* in this spawning by providing an appropriate environment (Domain or dreamscape), but human interaction is necessary.

Kinda like Tether formation, maybe?

Possible exceptions: I bet some gods, like some Superiors, can create new ethereals. CDaU, anyone?

I spent four hours looking for it. I vaguely remembered that pantheons came together out of survival or similarities. And even if the stories say they are related by "blood," they actually aren't. But I can't remember where that is.

What does the EPG say regarding to creation inside the Marches _before_ the advent of humanity? Didn't the Corporeal Realm "dream" (in a sense) into existence some elements inside the Ethereal? (For ex.: Corporeal mountains dreaming their Ethereal versions into existence, is a specific line I seem to recall...)

From the first paragraph in "Elementals" on page 72 of the EPG:

Some say that the first elementals were born as the Earth cooled and began to dream of solid rock and liquid water, and later of storms, mountains, and life.

OK; so elemental strands may have spawned ethereals prior to critters. That's a start.

We went with ethereals can breed with other ethereals in a similar way celestials do, but it requires someone with a fertility affinity.
