Clearly, they're plotting revenge for Marignano.

While they were getting ready for self-defense. Quite sensibly. They were not however contracting out soldiers this round.

It is more logical than making a plan for fighting off a Zombie invasion.

Just wait until they start unfolding all the tools in that Dwarf Army Axe!

I once ran a DragonQuest campaign set in western Europe (mostly the Rhône valley) in 1122, in which fantasy parahuman species such as elves, dwarves, giants, and orcs took the place of various historical races and cultures. Hungarians and Finns were orcish. The Rus, Swedes and Norwegians, the Irish, and Ethiopians were different kinds of giants. The Welsh, Cornish, Bretons, and Galicians were elves. Speakers of Alemannic German were dwarves. That includes the German-speaking Swiss.

Speaking of that, I named my two favorite Swiss Army Knives after Telchar's most famous creations. My SwissChamp is Angrist and my Traveller Lite is Anduril (OK it's name at Telchar's time was Narsil but it got broken fighting Sauron, don't you know).

Come to think of it, Angrist was a knife. Maybe it was a SwissChamp. After all Dwarves reincarnate. Maybe the Elsener's are reincarnations of Telchar and his kin.

In my gaming group, we're playing an East Asian themed setting with heavy influence from wuxia China.

For a dwarf, you'd need a tribe of folk who were shorter than average, work in inhumane conditions, and who are obsessed with money above all else.

So we basically made them Cantonese.
