If you add a brim and cheek guards then I'd probably give the No Peripheral Vision penalty anyway - just to stop munchkins.

Smart fighting and positioning can mitigate (even if not eliminate) No Peripheral Vision, but it has a harder time doing the same to a lucky random headshot. |

Or add a plume or crest. Of course that makes you look like you have a plume of crest coming out of your head....
