Recolored counters?
Part of my Ogre project is to do some recolored counters. Here are some samples of the work so far. The first two are Combine studies; I rather prefer the first one. The third is Nihon (I tried getting a sun on there but it didn't look good), and the last is Vatican Guard (probably needs work). Tell me what you think. I do have Sons of Old Nassau and Black Rose planned, plus of course some green ones.

Re: Recolored counters?
The Vatican Guard is the most striking, but it's a bit hard to read with the gold on purple. Might need to thicken up the type a bit?

Re: Recolored counters?
Re: Vatican Guard, have you considered reversing the colors? Purple on gold? It wold likely stand out better.

Re: Recolored counters?
Reversing colors is one possibility. The line weights of the Ogre Classic Counters set are the problem. I've tried a couple of other possible fixes but so far no soap. I also haven't printed them yet... they may look better that way.
But since The Man himself weighed in on the matter, you bet I'm going to find a solution. Phil |

Re: Recolored counters?
I did print out a Vatican set and it looked better, but I'm still going to work on those line thicknesses.
Meanwhile, I now have a better understanding of the Kwanchai affair. Someone looked at the picture and apparently missed the disclaimer. I am glad I read up on this. I will not be offering any sets of recolored counters without either permission or a license, which at this time I have not asked for or inquired about. (And don't ask me when I might do so. I decline to make any estimates.) Phil |
