Wildcard Skills in GCS?
I am trying to wrap my head around how to make a wildcard skills and I guess its just not clicking.
I have a skill name "Sneak!" and have selected it as a W in the difficulty settings but can't apply the actual skills that it encompasses. Anyone know how to do this? |

What do you mean by 'apply the skills that it encompasses'?

Re: Wildcard Skills in GCS?
This Wildcard skill is from the basic set:
Detective! (IQ). Replaces Criminology, Detect Lies, Electronics Operation (Security and Surveillance), Forensics, Interrogation, Law, Observation, Research, Savoir-Faire (Police), Search, Shadowing, Streetwise, etc. It "encompasses" 14 different skills. I cant figure out to to include the component skills into the Wildcard skill in GCS. |

Re: Wildcard Skills in GCS?
I would like them on the sheet so that i know what i need to roll for. should i just put that in the notes section? what if the skill normally requires an encumbrance penalty? Do I ignore it or account for it in the new Sneak! skill?

Re: Wildcard Skills in GCS?
Part of the point of a Wildcard skill is to remove the clutter of a long list of skills from the character sheet. Anytime the character is doing something sneaky - just use Sneak!, and don't worry what regular skill would usually be used.
That said, if you want the reminder about what skills it usually replaces, I'd just put the skills that it can replace in the notes section. As for penalties, I think it makes sense to assess any penalty that would apply to the regular skill to the Wildcard skill. |
