That isn't the trademark. The clones are genetic testbeds. Each one has an individual tweak to their genome over and above their trademark and the purpose is to see what each of the tweaks will do. As a result most of them are sick and/or mentally ill. If they find a modification that seems favourable, then they start marketing it.

The testbed theory seems likely after you look at Sarah's daughter, but it hasn't been confirmed, or even seriously asked by the clones. But the clones definitely have a trademark written into their code. That's outright stated in the finale, and is actually standard practice with synthetic lifeforms.

Although personally, I'm rooting for the idea that clones are supposed to be organ donors/test subjects for one very ill woman.
