"No," Sunae says, speaking to him as one would speak to a young child, "He has never had any interaction with the Norse. Until recently they were nothing we ever thought about. My family and I are already in the midst of a war, why would we want to start another one?"

She sighs in exasperation, "Goodness Ryuki, what's gotten into you? A couple of stray tears and all of a sudden you are a complete ass. I know you don't approve of how Grandfather does things, but really, aren't you taking things a bit too far?"

The concept was so basic to him, learned on his father's knee, that it was unthinkable that she didn't understand it. He copies her condescending tone, "Odin is a cat's paw. That is when someone else uses him to use someone else to send a message to your grandfather. Odin does not have a beef with your family at all, but someone who can use Odin as an errand-boy does. Now that may not impress you, but that old boy does not work for just anyone, even with hookers and blow to sweeten the deal.

"And living men do not teleport in, slash up a girl, and then teleport out. Living people can't teleport." He realizes the irony of that. "That takes an archangel."

He pauses. He wants to tell her, but he wants her to figure it out more. "No, I don't think I've gone far enough."

Glen waves away the distinction. "Sounds like torment to me. Working for you lot is bad enough, I shudder to imagine being stuck with your boss forever."

Sunae has to accede that point.

"Yes, he does relish the chaos he causes. But then again, don't we all?"

"No! I relish the knowledge that I gain, and the profits that I make, and the way my life used to be almost entirely free of things trying to kill me!"

"I am thoroughly convinced there is a Demon Prince of Restaurant Snobs and that he has a Servitor that carries the Word of Yelpers."
