Elfs and combat
Ok, this seems like a strange situation.
I am a level 9 wizzard. I offer to help another player fight a monster. He agrees to take my help. We fight the monster and ask if anyone had any cards to play. I then say "I don't wanna be a wizzard anymore" and drop down my sick elf card and claim that I have won...can the person who I was helping now refuse my help or is it too late now that combat has started... |

Re: Elfs and combat
Firstly, there's no need to stop being a Wizard to become an Elf. One is a Class and the other a Race. You are allowed to be one of each so you can be an Elf Wizard.
However, you can't play a Race or Class card when it is not your turn unless you just received that card. As you are helping, it is not your turn, so you would need to find a way to receive the Elf card in the middle of battle, which is very difficult (Using a Wand of Dowsing would be one method). But yes, if you do find a way to receive an Elf card while in battle as a helper, the combat owner is forced to keep you just as much as you are forced to stay there. However, both he and the other Munchkins have a new set of reasonable time to react to your play of the Elf card. While they may not have wanted to play cards earlier, they may want to now...
