Should 5.12 Leaving the Map start with something like "Unless allowed to by a scenario rule, no unit may leave the map"?

BTW, 5.12 in the 2000 edition of G.E.V. makes a point of prohibiting CPs from escaping off the map, probably because a tester or some killjoy actually did that once.

Ogre goes out of its way to promote scenario building. Would a note about the AU equivalents for a Mark III and a Mark V be a good thing to have? I'm not sure if it really fits or not, since it really ties more into force selection in G.E.V.
And remember, the set will not have PE Ogres from what I read, and only NAC GEVs. So this (although lots of fun!) does not have a place in Ogre from what I can see…

Or a somewhat larger assortment for "Ogre Defending" and Ogres for both sides in "Mark III Defending" and "Duel." But I agree that the Ogre equivalents rule isn't necessary.

This is a welcome new edition because we are getting new colored OGREs. I'm buying one just for that reason alone, and the new die. Then will pick up some extra sheets in Warehouse 23.

I like that you skipped rule numbers not used in this edition. It keeps the rules consistent through the versions.

Page 3, last sentence "...the safer it is!."
The period after the exclamation point here should be two sentences above where one is missing.

200.3 Map Overlays
I would also recommend using removable double sided tape.

Page 5 "Ground Effect Vehicle (GEV)." Rules need a period at the end.

Please finish the Line Art on the Mark 5 OGRE Record Card. At the base of the Tower and Missile Racks.
It would be a nice touch to have Combine and Paneurope Faction logos on the Ogres Line Art Record Cards.

So excited, as I wanted to acquire another OGRE board, and the more portable format means that I can more easily share the game with newcomers everywhere.

Without knowing exactly about what's in the box, I still think it's a valid question.

It'll have some NAC GEVs for the GEV escort scenario, some PE Ogres for playing defense and duels.

Is a section on "Creating New Scenarios" missing? (One starts on p10 of the ODE Scenarios book. It'd need some tweaks; the text starts with a reference to Ceasefire Collapse.)

MARK III DEFENDING
The defender has a CP to defend, one Ogre Mark III anywhere
in the North or Central areas, and 12 armor units and 15 squads of
infantry in the North area. The attacker has an Ogre Mark V.

...

OGRE DEFENDING
Reverse the roles. The attacker takes a force of armor and
infantry from the Mark III Attack or Mark V Attack scenario and
enters the south end of the map to destroy a command post guarded
by a “watchdog” Ogre and armor and infantry equal to half the
attacker’s force. Any attacking unit, regardless of type, may leave
the south end of the map to escape.
Are these different enough titles? Maybe rename the second "Armor Attacking" or "Role Reversal" or some vague idiom like "Good for the Gander".

In the second, what kind of Ogre is the watchdog Ogre?

In MARK IIIs ATTACKING, where can the extra two armor units be set up? (North of the line I'd guess.)

The Ogre is defined in the original scenario - either a Mark III or Mark V. The first sentence sums it up: "Reverse the roles". It goes on to describe the reversal of either the Mark III Attack or Mark V Attack scenarios.

Personally, I have no issue with the titles. The Mark III Defending is a specific scenario of mixed forces, whereas the Ogre Defending is a reversal of the base Attack scenarios under specific guidelines. YMMV.
