Default Sneaky Bastard Sword and Rod of Lardly Meat

We played our first game and have a few questions:

Sneaky Bastard Sword - it lets you pass through rooms with monsters, undetected, as long as you roll above a 2. Do you get this option if you start the turn with a monster(s) in your room with you already, or is it only for moving through rooms that you aren't already in?

Also, do you have to make this roll for each monster in the room? If you do have to do it this way and lose one of the rolls, will all the monsters in the room attack together now even if some of them didn't initially detect you?

Rod of Lardly Meat - what is the timing on this item? Can I use it as I take my last wound and have it refill me to full, or do I have to use it before I take my last wound?

*I edited a few of the questions out

Moving through different types of doors - Secret Passages and Locked doors - does the 3 signify the number of movements you have to use to move through the door, or is it more complicated than that? Do characters that have abilities letting them move through those types of doors as normal doors just mean that it takes 1 movement instead of 3.

Also, once someone goes through a locked or hidden door, does it remain locked or hidden?

I think thats all for now. Thanks for any help.
I'll have to look over the other questions more carefully, but the rules are pretty clear on how to handle locked/hidden doors and describing those values as movement costs. The doors remain as they were, regardless of how many times a munchkin goes through them.

In the future, keep your questions limited to one per thread, or if you can, at least keep multiple questions related, unlike these. This is described in a sticky post entitled Forum rules: Trust me, you'll want to read this first.

I can take a stab at the second one at least. You have to use it before you lose your take your last hit, because as soon as that is gone, you're dead.

For the first, I'd say it's one roll. I still haven't found time to look through my cards to verify that. I'd also need to look at it, but I feel, if you start out in a room with a Monster in it already, you'd have to fight it. Again, I need to look at my cards.

And, you must use the Rod of Ladrly Meat BEFORE you take the last wound, not when you're Health is already at 0.

Thanks for the replies. One last clarification (I'm at work so I can't check my rules and cards)...can I use the ability of the Rod of Lardly Meat during combat? It says use it at any time on the card if I remember correctly. So lets say I draw a monster card, the combat officially begins as soon as I draw it, and the odds look like they are going to be stacked against me - can it be played then before everything resolves? I assume if it happens before the dice are rolled for the combat then everything would be legal.

Unless the card says otherwise, you should be able to play it any time BEFORE you roll. Once you roll, if you lose, you take the hits to your Health. Now, if you're likely to take more hits of damage from Running Away (remember, Running Away from a Monster that has Bad Stuff that can't affect you causes you to lose one Health point), you can use the Rod before you have to Roll to Run Away.

As an example: You're facing 2 Monsters, and you have 3 Health. You lose the combat, so now you're down to 1 Health. Then you can use the Rod to get back up to full strength before you're likely to take any more damage.
