Curse-Big Feet

I guess this is like asking what came first the chicken or the egg, but the rules state "many cards add special rules, so in most cases when the rule sheet disagrees with a card, follow the card."

When I kicked down the door I was cursed with Big Feet, but a few turns later I received a cheat. I used the cheat on Footgear, but I'm concerned I may not have been able to do so. Can someone clarify whether a Cheat or a Hireling would or could override Curse-Big Feet or Curse-Tiny Hands?

The Cheat card on the footgear would allow you to use it even if you otherwise could not. It won't really matter why you couldn't normally use it, which should include having big feet.
I don't have the actual curse card in front of me, so an official ruling could override that, but general rules for the cheat card should allow it.
