Default question about the curse card "grave mistake" (undead booster)

the card "grave mistake" states: "the next time you would fight an undead monster, it is merely a dead monster. it gives no treasures and no levels. you dont get to loot the room, either. someone got here first."

if i understood this card correctly i cant fight the monster since its already dead, but i can look for trouble. right ?
im sry if this is an obvious question but im new to this game and i still have to get familiar with the semantics of these cards.

looking forward to your answers

No. Once you encounter a monster, even a dead one, you can't try to fight another monster that turn.
