Kickstarter - Ogre Miniatures Set 1

As I said to a friend of mine just an hour or so ago (he was in the ODE Kickstarter but hadn't been following this one):

I'm in for two each of the four colors, but I get a huge discount if I'm also buying the new boardgame box and expansion at the same time, and also I have a mental disease.

Well, I'm certainly hoping that this will signal a major revival of the Ogre Miniatures line. I'm a customer for sure, especially since plastic miniatures make it much more affordable now.

Well, there appear to be more than 1500 people in the world who are willing and able to, collectively, put forth more than $124k for various Ogre stuff in support of Ogre miniatures that they won't get for more than half a year.

I'd say that's a pretty strong endorsement of the product! :)

Of those (presently) 1525 backers, assuming each person only got one set of minis, that's almost 66,000 minis.

But realistically, there's likely to be a flood of over 175,000 minis coming out of China .... if not even more.

Seriously, welcome to the family. Ogre/G.E.V. is an incredible game line that literally has brought decades of fun to an untold number of people. But we do need new players to keep the game going strong. Which, if this Kickstarter is any indication, it is doing very well!

And what's that?

Next year is the 40th Anniversary of Ogre?
