Dude, I'm just pointing out that different people do things differently. I make no claims for my method being superior in general. It's just the one I prefer.

^See if I ever give you a genuine and heartfelt complement ever again.

That was meant as a compliment? I'm afraid I took it as sarcasm. I'm terrible at deciphering other people's social signals. See Oblivious.

And that's why my girlfriend and I have a very strict "No important conversations over text" rule. Not one has ever ended up going well. Now, I just assume every word is written with the context that it's coming off a business letter. No emotion, sarcasm, or anything off the obvious.

Erk, that makes me Oblivious, too - I totally took it as sarcasm.

Either way, I second DwarvenHeart's call here: no important conversations over text is a great rule.

Though if you take the rule seriously, forums start to look a little pointless...

LOL! Now now, there are still jokes to be had. I could also create a strict "Italisize if you mean to have tone behind your message" rule for netiquette. Don't know if it'll catch on. Worse part is, I doubt I'd bank on it if it did. I mean where's the person who made "LOL" or "Noob". And wtf isn't Noob spelled newb? Whatever.

Lets not let the thread go much longer down this road. :-P
