Re: Working with new components
Right now, I'm using a large mailing tube, simply to avoid any possibility of fold creases (just like my Ogre mats). But if SJG comes up with something better, I'm all in favor of it...

Re: Working with new components
I've heard from several friends that use these for card games, like Magic, they hang them in the closet just like clothes.

Re: Working with new components
Playmat storage. At home, I have a few different ways in which I store playmats.
* Boxed. Some playmats are sold in a cardboard box. I always keep the box, which gives the playmat a home. * Rolled and shelved. For those playmats without any sort of packaging at all, I roll them and keep them on a shelf. * Imperial Assault playmats. These are sold in clamshells that have a peg hole. I keep the playmat in the clamshell, and hang the clamshells on a wall in the game room. There is no perfect storage solution for playmats.

Re: Working with new components
When you roll these, is it better to roll them up tight, so they don't flex and flop around, or as loose as possible?

I also roll them with the neoprene side facing out. Again, I have no evidence that one way is better than the other.

Re: Working with new components
A cheap alternative would be an expanding shower curtain rod, fitted across a closet or other likely nook.

Did I miss the comment where somebody puts their flexible maps in the obvious flat place under the mattress of your bed? Mine lays on a sheet of half inch plywood, so...flat.
I see there may be some new flexible maps in the future? Keep that up and I can get rid of the wedge pillow under my feet. |

Re: Working with new components
I happen to have just received a package that came in a really big, flat carboard package, which I carefully opened so that it is more or less like an artist's folio. It is just the right size. I'm glad I am now storing these flat and out of the light, as I have a feeling they won't age that well, and at the moment at least they seem to be irreplaceable. Anyway, I'm going to be pretty careful with mine.

Re: Working with new components
How are people's experiences with using dry erase markers on the MH tiles? I've been intending to do this but hesitating at the last moment in fear of messing them up permanently.
