Stats for pleasure illusionists?
Hello all!
So in my medieval fantasy game world, exists a business chain called the "Velvet Room" (which I totally did not name after the Persona series because the name sounds good) which is more or less a brothel where instead of you having sex with prostitutes, wizards and witches secure you to a padded chair (so you don't hurt yourself) and cast illusion spells to make you live out your fantasies if you can put them into words. Usually (and they market themselves as such), the fantasies are of a sexual nature, but if, say, you want to live out a fantasy of being the medieval version of a GTA criminal, that can be arranged too. What would be the typical stats for such pleasure illusionists at various degrees of details for the illusions (I'm asking in case the PCs are hired to rescue a pleasure illusionist who got abducted), what would be the job requirements, the typical pay and so on. Thank you in advance! |

Re: Stats for pleasure illusionists?
Well, to start with, the skill is Artist (Illusion Art), and it should be pretty high.

Re: Stats for pleasure illusionists?
I'm pretty sure you can make tangible illusions, so the padded chair is probably unnecessary.

If they don't have Hervé Villechaize, I'm not interested.

Some mind-reading spells and a good psychology skill would also be pretty useful. |

Re: Stats for pleasure illusionists?
Your going the wrong way about it, go with Great Hallucination p. Magic141. No doubt that a comfy leaning chair will be easier to sell than some restraining chair. It however requires a lot of FP from your caster, which I guess is what makes it expensive. It breaks your concept in that it is no longer a holo deck but more like VR computer game with some mage instead of a VR headset.
At least thats how the Magic book puts it. The interesting part is that your entrusting yourself willingly to a bunch of mind control mages that are really powerful. Can you trust them? Its an interesting plothook: One of the mages are manipulating rich patrons to "donate" their funds to him and its absolutely destroying the trust in the establishment. This can result in both the rich conspirering to forbid it or the establishment simply being shut down as their customers no longer trust them. I would recommend the "Scary Illusions" box p. Magic95 that lets an illusion add to the fright check of any scary illusions made and use it on any sex appeal (It sounds like its a skill of the trade) checks that might be rolled by the mage or for that matter any skill rolls. Having area knowledge of any famed cities might be good if your doing a GTA like experience with a customer, the higher the skill the more authentic the city. Re: Stats for pleasure illusionists?
On the other hand, an item that you don't need to create via illusions is an item that isn't costing you FP to create and maintain.

Re: Stats for pleasure illusionists?
Some people would find the chair and restraints an added feature.
One of the players in our group has been trying to squeeze an Illusion/Creation mage into a few games, with a specialty on Create Servant/Independence. They'd be creating servants with high skills in Erotic Art and Sex Appeal, naturally. A high Illusion Art skill would be recommended to get the appearance as demanded by the customer.
