Default Dungeonfantasy twists release date?

Hey

I missed the kickstarter, is there any way to buy the Dungeon Fantasy Twists pdf?

Or is there news on release date?

Thx

They are still slowly releasing PDFs from the GURPS 2020 PDF Challenge. Once they're all released I'm sure they'll start releasing PDFs from the 2021 PDF Challenge. This suggests a release date somewhere between 6 to 18 months from now.

However, if they do another PDF Challenge or Pyramid Scheme Kickstarter it is likely that the PDFs from previous challenges will be available as add-ons to those campaigns, since that's what they did with previous Kickstarters. So keep an eye out for those.

The next KS is probably going to be another three-issue Pyramid 4 deal, so you'll likely be able to get the 2021 KS PDFs through Backerkit or as a pledge level reward (likely both).

But why so long from now? The pdf is done, people would buy it.

Because it stops making the Kickstarters make sense. If you can buy it whenever why join the Kickstarter? Why back later Kickstarters if you can just grab it soon as those who paid on the Kickstarter?

If they keep up the current trend you'll be able to grab it on the next GURPS Kickstarter so you'll have to wait till then.

  1. A perk of joining the Kickstarters is exclusivity for a year
  2. That exclusivity incentivizes participation in Kickstarters
  3. Greater participation leads to more successful Kickstarters and more PDFs released

That’s not really true at all. You do kickstarter so the project gets made, to expand the project (through stretch goals ) and rarely for a deal on the product. Some stretch goals are exclusive (usually frill stuff like dice ) on occasion but never the main product.

Many kickstarters have late pledge, pre orders etc - companies want to make money. Restriction to purchase is weird and artificial. By virtue of fulfillment to backers first there is usually a delay but this is a pdf everyone got their copy. Not seeing the business model.

And I don't know the business model - I can only guess. This is just a guess. Ask Phil if you're curious - get it from the horse's mouth as it were.

Yeah fair. don’t know what SJ games position is. Thanks for your insight.
Ive done alot of kickstarters so that is surprising. Im actually a backer on three right at this moment (demon city, mothership, Forbidden lands), Of those three, one has late pledge open months after funding, the other has pre order already.
These are companies who have done kickstarters in the past as well.
It’s interesting that this works differently. I have backed all of the gurps ks since dungeon fantasy boxed set except two. This last one I screwed up and didn’t do in time, but wanted to, sucky… oh well.
