Default Magic Fingers

I like that. It suggests an underlying ability. But I don't like some of the skills.
Electronics Operation - surely far more technical than delicate, tactile feedback for any specialisation.
Photography - surely steady hand only helps for low speed shutters.
Gesture - involves more than the hand and fine control doesn't help when gestures must be blatantly distinct and exaggerated.

Why are you requiring specialties? Survival and Animal Handling require specialization but why can't the PC chose?

Photography does not require a high dexterity. Anyone who doesn't suffer from some kind of muscle tremmor can hold a camera steady enough for high-speed photography. Taking clear pictures with a low shudder speed requires mechanically locking the camera into position -- something that the human body alone simply cannot do. Low shudder speeds require that the camera be supported by a tripod or something similar. Ideally, the photographer will use a remote shudder release so that the act of pushing the shudder release will not move or vibrate the camera while the shudder is open.

Apologies if that's too much information, but my dad was a professional outdoor photographer for a while and I picked up a bit of photography lore from him. :-)

Some people would consider this to be TMI. It's not exactly my cuppa tea, but it is an entertaining read, and it goes well with the "Magic Fingers" talent. ;-)

Arrgh!!! Skill bloat! Why oh why didn't she make those all techniques (or manuevers since it was 3e) instead? Is Kissing really an entire skill unto itself?
