No that is new. This was a TV movie that aired in 1988. Called "Badlands 2005".

The "Viper" TV Series is finally being released on DVD. The release should occur next year. I can send additional information via private message.

The ABC TV series "Street Hawk" that aired in 1984 and 1985 has been on DVD for a few years.

I will plan on updating the Web page below later this year. This forum has been great at posting titles of media I have never encountered before.

Dare I mention it, but "Firebird 2015" is a very-B grade Car Wars-esque movie from 1981. It's kind of like a ... low budget "Megaforce" (if you can imagine such a thing).

I watched the first half of a movie titled, "Firebird 2015 AD" in the late 1980s on the WTBS TV network. I believe this is the movie you referenced.

I felt the story was low quality, and did not have enough car combat content, therefore I stopped watching it after the first 20 minutes.
