Does Gregor's special rules apply if he's added as a Wandering Monster.

I have a question again about Gregor. Here is the scenario: I am at level 8 fighting a level 2 wino and I wandering monster gregor level 6 in for the win. I have one ghost minion at +2 with an overall (including the ghost) totaling 20. The player to my right has a level of 9 and the item bonus of the person to the left is 14. When I added gregor, another player adds a +10 to gregor. The other player adds a plus 5 to each. Since I was fighting the level 2 wino first, does the Gregor rule (player to the rights level & items bonus of the player to the left) apply to both the wino & gregor? How does it work if the one of the items in play for the player to my left is the splatbook which automatically kills gregor? Do I count my 20 for the wino and 16 for gregor totaling 36 or is it 16 to fight both? Last edited by MunchkinMan; 03-06-2013 at 07:09 AM. |

Re: Gregor and minions
I'm not sure how you get the total of 20, unless you are just listing the sum of your own Items and Level, but those are not needed whenever Gregor is present. It seems that your combat bonus would be 9 + 14 + 2 = 25 given your description, while the combat strength of the monster side is 6 + 10 + 5 + 2 + 5 = 28, so you would be losing the combat.
In any case, yes, Gregor's ability means you use only the Items of the player on your left and the Level of the player on your right, regardless of the presence of other monsters. Your total combat bonus needs to be higher than the monsters' total combat bonus in order to beat them. I'm unaware of the text of the Splatbook, so I'll leave that question for somebody else to answer how that resolves itself.

Re: Gregor and minions
The splatbook is an item that has the special property of automatically beating certain monsters like gregor specifically. The card was out and in use as one of the items of another player. That player was also the one from which I was to use their items based on what Gregor's card read.
Looks like I really shoved my thumb up this one with my own wandering monster! |

Re: Does Gregor's special rules apply if he's added as a Wandering Monster.
You always fight the Monsters together. There is no point in time where we want people trying to figure out how to divvy up their combat strength against specific Monsters. So, if there's a special ability of a Monster that effects how you handle combat, that applies to the whole combat. In this instance, when Gregor is one of the Monsters you are facing, you'd have to use the Items and Level of the appropriate players, no matter how many other Monsters are involved in the combat, nor with concern for which order the Monsters arrived.
