GURPS tends to give it RCL 2, is this reasonable?

The .40 S&W continues to be popular in our TL 10 games as can be loaded with 10mm HEMP

.308 rifles have Rcl 3, so Rcl 2 is where it must be. It is definitely a snappier round then your typical 9-millimeter, but it is still quite possible to put all the shots in a grapefruit sized spread at reason will combat ranges.

I actually find firing .308 rifles usually more comfortable and leading to easier follow up shots than 9mm pistols

I was actually more curious about being RCL 2 since sundry pistol rounds in pistols are RCL 3

I don't have any experience with high RCL cartridges other than firing an issue .357 magnum to qualify with it, where my shots all fit comfortably within the span of an extra large pizza box at two yards, but that was due to the teeth clenched, muscles burning, back aching, fingers from both hands on the trigger maximum effort needed to get the stupid thing to fire double action

The Rat Pack (we need a new name) continues Ep 4 of the Aeon Campaign with a trip into Groundhog Day. A figure important to both our past and future is caught in a time loop - but we don't know that yet.

Or do we?

Thursday is GURPSDay!

The rules in GURPS for guns combat stack modifiers more than nearly everything else in the game. It's possible to speed things up by simplifying things into broad categories, and the post provides worked examples.

You should do a companion piece to Hans' John Wick breakdown, with a Technical Grappling breakdown of one of the purely "grappling" scenes—there are two, at least, I think.

Given the love and desire of players to shoot 3 round bursts at the head . . . making 3 round bursts and head shots meaningful makes for happy players as makes the game more match their feel of what to do

Though what armor protects the 'head', face, skull, average?

I also am bad at memorizing and finding in the book the number of shots / bonus table, it is probably the best hidden table in the book

Gunslinger halves the 'Ranged Rapid Strike' (Quick Shot maybe? I forget the exact name) from -6 to -3

If you use the rules in High Tech, I've seen many people buy off the penalty to increasing ROF as a technique as ROF 4 doesn't increase Rcl. Often combined with buying up the Ranged Rapid Strike technique, so they can throw two two bullet attacks downrange

This installment of the reloading press presents the venerable but effective (and some would say winner and still champion) .45ACP pistol cartridge, with stats for GURPS and D&D.

In the Aeon GURPS Supers campaign, the team investigates a pattern of exploding transformers. We suspect an electrically-powered super, do our homework, and survive a fight through luck, more luck, and the skin of our teeth.
