Big Joe the Flatulent Steed
If I am using Big Joe as a steed and get the Flatulent Steed Curse can I change him to a hireling to avoid the curse?

Re: Big Joe the Flatulent Steed
I'd say no, because at the time the curse hit, he was a steed. Munchkin doesn't have many "go back" rules (a.k.a. "interrupts") -- effects are First In First Out -- and those that do exist are clearly spelled out.

Re: Big Joe the Flatulent Steed
So he would then be locked into being a steed?
Or could I make him a hireling who would then flee because of the curse? |

Re: Big Joe the Flatulent Steed
Not the official answer and this is one of those situations that hard to call but....
Big Joe is both a Steed and a Hireling, when you apply Flatulent Steed to him while he is a Steed it stays with him regardless of which state he is in. He will make other Hirelings flee but not himself until the affliction is removed.

Re: Big Joe the Flatulent Steed
Thanks! I think that made a lot more sense.
I could make him the hireling and get another steed. I was really having a hard time with this. |

Re: Big Joe the Flatulent Steed
I disagree with the earlier answers.
Flatulent Steed is quite explicit: you may not have any Hirelings while this Curse is in effect. This includes Big Joe. If Big Joe is a Steed and you are hit with this Curse, he cannot change to a Hireling until the Curse is lifted.
