Default Teleportation Potion

Bad wording on this card for a particular situation one of our players wanted to use it for:

Player A is in a room with a monster on the other side of the dungeon, about to play out a combat. Player B has the Teleportation Potion and wants to help Player A kill the monster. Here's the wording on Teleportation Potion:

"Use this card at any time to move to any room. If used outside of combat, it costs no Move.

If used during combat, you escape unharmed and Run Away automatically. If used after you lose a combat, you still take a hit, but you Run Away automatically. But either way, it uses all your remaining Move.

Usable once only."

Player B can use this at any time (even after someone else's combat has started), and can be put into the room as well. Player A could ask for Player B's help in fighting the monster. However, it says if used during combat, you run away automatically. Please elaborate on this situation. Its very bad wording for this particular situation, and I can't figure out what sort of ruling should be taken.

Player B is not in combat, so all the text involving combat is irrelevant.

I was thinking that might be it. However, its now really clear about that... It only says if used during combat, and a combat was going on, so it was used during combat...just not the combat of the person using it.

It doesn't make the distinction of saying "used during YOUR combat" vs. "used during combat"

It should be clear: the character using it is outside of combat, spatially. You're stuck with temporal thinking, which normally applies. Both temporal and spatial are pertinent, however.

Note that, by my understanding of munchkin rules, if there happened to be another munchkin who was in the room, but not "part of" the combat, said munchkin would still be able to use that potion as if not in combat - because the combat would not be involving that munchkin.
