Default cars and HP

I was looking at cars in 4e. I noticed the hp for a TL7 Sedan was 53hp with a dr5. In 3e in the vehicles book a family car (tl7) had 188hp in the body, 19 in the wheels and a DR5

I am curious if all vehicles in 4e are going to be more fragile. If so it will be much easier to break things. Now someone with a submachinegun will be able to take a car apart quickly, I suppose in a supers game you can go more wild punching and throwing vehicles

The general policy seems to be that everything with high HP now has less HP. I think that vehicle HP will be based on the square root of area (or possibly the cube root of mass) in fourth edition, rather than on area as it was before.

-- Vehicle HP is now based on their weight (specifically, empty weight in most cases). Use cube root of empty weight * 4

The default rule (B558) seems to be that HP is proportional to the cube root of empty weight. It's mulitplied by 2 for living things (IIRC - Kromm mentioned it somewhere), x4 for Unliving things, and x8 for Homogenous or Diffuse things.

Yes, HP go down across the board. However, please pay close attention to Injury to Unliving, Homogenous, and Diffuse Targets (p. B380). It makes cars very hard to take apart with small-arms fire.

Are there any "ready" rules how to count HP and Damages with GURPS Vehicles? I'd really love to see some general guidelines how to use 3rd ed Vehicles with GURPS 4th edition... Some I can (of course) guess myself, but it would save a lot of time if you could give some hints how you are planning to deal with them (HP, Acc, Dam, controllability etc.) in Vehicles 4th Edition.
