Putting item cards into play: contradiction in rules??
Dear Munchkin experts,
I have read the Munchkin Quest rules several times, everything seems clear, however I still have one big doubt about when it is possible to play a "normal" item card (not a one-shot one) on the table. The manual says (P.5): "At any time on your turn, *except during combat*, you can play an item card from your hand to the table" This seems very clear to me, it is different from what you can do in the munchkin card game, but this is not a problem. It is also what people generally say in some posts in this forum. Everything would be ok, however if you continue reading the rules (P.17): "Any item card may be played to the table as soon as you get it, or *at any time* during your own turn" "Any one-shot item can be played during any combat, whether you have it in your hand or on the table. Other items cannot be played unless they are in play. If it is your turn, *you can play them and use them immediately*. If you are helping someone, or fighting out of turn for some reason, you cannot put new items into play." This completely contradicts what the rules say on page 5! Is this an error or do I have missed something? Thank you in advance for your answers! |

Space in the MQ rules is extremely tight; we could not repeat every possible condition every time a rule was referenced, and "except during combat" should be inferred whenever a rule talks about playing non-one-shot Items.
