How to properly load RPM (Ritual Path Magic)?
Greetings, all!
I'm still trying to wrap my head around GCA. If I want to run a campaign using RPM (specifically the one from GURPS Thaumatology: Ritual Path Magic), what do I do? I see lots and lots of gdf's, but I can't find which one is for the THM:RPM variant of magic. Thanks in advance! |

If your copy of GCA4 is up to date, you should see three GURPS Thaumatology 4e GDFs. I believe the specific one you're looking for is: GURPS Thaumatology 4e - Path-Book Magic.gdf

AFAIK there is some difference between the MH traits and the standalone RPM book. I'm looking for the latter only (and without MH templates and stuff coming in).

I don't think that there currently *is* a GDF for GURPS Thaumatology: Ritual Path Magic; there is usually a significant lag time between the publication of a new title and the completion of the (IIRC, volunteer) work necessary to create a corresponding GDF.

Re: How to properly load RPM (Ritual Path Magic)?
I imagine it would be easier than most GDF files to produce. I bet trimming the existing Monster Hunters 1 file down to only the RPM parts would get you 90% of the way there. I don't feel like trying, but I bet it would be trivial for someone who groks the GDF format.

Uh, are there like a lot of traits in Thaumatology: RPM? I could maybe have a look, no promises, etc.

Just load the Monster Hunters 1: Champions data file. It adds a few traits that you'll want to ignore, but it's mainly templates and RPM.

^ that works.
I copied the relevant bits from the MH1 data file, and I added some of the new traits from the RPM book to make this data file. I will probably come back to make a stat for Mana Reserve that can be displayed with Phoenix. |
