For some reason I have the mindset that board games are off-line meaning no dependency on app’s. I suppose it’s because I want to hand down something years/decade(s) later.
On the other hand if done correctly it’s possible to deliver a one of kind experience that couldn’t be done with just rules, dice, and cards. Even if the playability is limited. |

The original Dark Tower game was borked if the tower quit working; this doesn't strike me as all that different. The publisher has committed to keeping the app current or, if they are unable to do so, releasing the source code to the community so others can take up the mantle.
