Oh, I hope so. I have a friend I want to give a copy of Worminghall to when it comes out. . . .

It's still possible now, by the buy it without logging in and giving the recipient's email address method. Of course, you won't be able to use company credits for that, I don't think.

Company credits? I do get comped for some things, but for anything I'm giving to someone else I would expect to pay cash, even if it was one of my own books.

I often give my characters families. Not all GMs do much with them. My current GURPS game has a character with a surviving elderly father, a wife, and two children. The GM has not only integrated them into some of the plot arcs, he has developed them as characters over the course of the campaign. They've also been threatened. The last guy who threatened them has a pesky habit of reviving, so he's under a slumber spell for the year while my character spends some of his off-duty time working up a sufficiently powerful permanent trap for the guy's soul. Yes, I am well-pleased with my current GM's use of my family background.

(For contrast, my last D&D character was doubly defined by his heritage, being an air genasi (djinn grandchild) desperate to prove himself to their society (and missing the boat a little on that, ending up disciplined and lawful). He had a mother, grandparents, and eventually a wife, none of which the GM ever said a word about.)

I'm the GM in my group. If I convince everyone here I'm awesome, can I get stuff?

;)

Considering how many GURPS Classic items are still on my list of "must buys," I look forward to seeing several of them up for sale (or, better, free! :-P) tomorrow.

Well, I've tried convincing others that I'm awesome, but only my cats are buying it. On the flip side, they have brought me a couple of bull frogs, several rabbits, and a number of recently deceased rodents.

I meant the credits you can get for SJGames stuff in lieu of cash, I know they do that as an option for Pyramid at least. Yeah if you are planning on just paying cash (well Credit Card or Paypal) you can gift it now. Just don't log in to e23 and give the recipient's email address instead of your own. This won't put it in their library, but they can then email e23 to have that fixed.

Do they still do that? I'd had thought that was discontinued. I've only written one Pyramid article for the new incarnation, but I don't recall this being available anymore.
