Can Kickstarter revive Ogre minis?
The goal for Ogre 6e was met within hours. It it too early to plan for the possibility of using Kickstarter to revive the Ogre miniatures line? For rewards you could offer Combine Missile Crawlers, Combine Structures, Paneuropean structures or other extremely rare and or new never before released miniatures.

Yes, it's too early to plan. But it's never too early to dream :)

I think we all have been dreaming since things started to go oop. I look forward to playing Ogre 6e with more than cardboard and dreams.

Having 3d files in a format that Shapeways or such can use so you can print your own minis might make a nice bonus goal.

Re: Can Kickstarter revive Ogre minis?
The Internet + Kickstarter + Steve Jackson + OGRE =
incredible potential the likes of which have yet to be seen(.) If the Kickstarter for OGRE 6th edition is any indication of OGREs potential... I would have to say Kickstarter will absolutely bring OGRE back beyond everybody's expectations. Metal OGRE minis or Plastic... I hope someone picks up the Metal line again, I still have a wish list to round out my forces...especially the OGREs. But I would really prefer Plastic minis. Plastic has a more expensive start up cost but the molds last forever because they are made of metal. You could even cast the Plastic minis in color for Pan European and Combine. Just Kickstart the minis! |

I'd even volunteer to make them. Of course, Winchell Chung is a wiz at Blender (he has given me more than a few pointers), so he would be the man for the job.

Re: Can Kickstarter revive Ogre minis?
I don't have any interest in miniatures, but I'd put money toward a kickstarter campaign for Ogre miniatures, to support my friends who do like them, to support Ogre, to support SJG, and to support the hobby at large.

Re: Can Kickstarter revive Ogre minis?
Wow, I would love to see minis get kickstarted (but I'd only be in for plastic, not metal. Maaaybe resin if they could do that right).
I'd never played this game, but slapped down my $100 out of nostalgia. I've played Car Wars and a few other SJG titles back in Junior High, and they were great fun. I hope the folks at SJG are as stoked (surprised?!) at Ogre's meteoric rise as I am. Wow! |

Re: Can Kickstarter revive Ogre minis?
I agree with Buzzardo on this one. I've never, ever, purchased a mini in my life for anything. But in this case, I'd make an exception, probably in a big way. If SJGs is going to do this, then I want to make sure I do my part to help them avoid the problems they experienced last time. Besides, I'd have Christmas Presents taken care of for a decade for my friends who do like them! :-)
