Dead Ringer question

So here's the question:

One player has the card Dead Ringer, which reads:

[Mod: Please don't quote card text.]

Say player one discards three cards for +6 to an Undead monster. Next, player two plays Help Me Out Here to take the Dead Ringer card from player one. Do the originally discarded cards still count toward the Monster's combat level? Or does transferring the item negate the bonus?

Bonuses gained by discards persist even if the card giving that bonus is no longer available. This is true for the Warrior Berserking ability, the Cleric Turn ability, and so on.
