Default The future of Munchkin: Impossible?

So, maybe I'm in a minority, but M:I is probably my favorite set... And I'm not even that big a Bond fan. But it seems that it's the only set to not get any post-core set loving. As far as I can tell there doesn't seem to be any plans to make an expansion. Am I wrong? If not, why? Did it not sell as well? Do they not have enough good card ideas for M:I? What did it do wrong?

I think we are a minority, but M:I is my favorite set as well. At least you know you're not alone. :)

If you don't already know about it, there's a German MI promo card called Der rosarote Puma (translated as The Pink Panther, BGG link here). I know that's not an expansion, but at least it's an additional card for the set. You can probably trade someone for it in The Trading Post.

My wife refuses to buy it and play it because of the suggestion that it is based on mission impossible movies. She really doesn't like Tom Cruise (just to make the understatement of the millenium!) Perhaps if I tell her it is bond based then we might get it.

Your wife IS aware that the M:I movies are based on an old TV series itself, right? Munchkin Impossible more than likely parodies the TV show as well, rather than the movies, along with the whole "super-spy" genre in general.

This is one of my favorite sets too. It's just so diffrent from the others.
From reading the forums I get the suggestion that it wasn't a big seller and they don't see much interest in an expansion, not that they don't have any more ideas for one. Too bad. I think it would only get better.

yes but the simple fact that Tom Cruise was involved in the movies has ruined it. She did say she would watch one of those movies if he died a slow painful death!

You could make your oun Tom Cruise promo card, and your wife could kill it in the game.

Hmmm, per the Illuminator, Munchkin Impossible is being sent back for yet a third reprint. This give HOPE that they will consider a 56 card expansion at least.

As for Tom Cruse, ask the Czar to create a monster card of him, so your wife can kill him over and over and over and .... well, you get the idea.

Our plans for 2012 are already overly ambitious, so we won't be adding an Impossible expansion to this year's schedule, but there's always hope for 2013 and beyond. We haven't forgotten it and we'd love to get back to it, but our primary efforts necessarily have to go to supporting the sets that are doing the best and to new development.
