Default Can I choose to fight Amazon if I'm sex-changed to female

I unfortunetly got sex-changed during the last game i played, and i flipped an amazon. Can i choose to combat it rather then getting a free treasure?

No. If your character is female, you can't choose to fight the Amazon. Any Monster that says it won't fight a certain type of character really won't fight that type of character and there's no time to remove that aspect from your character once the Monster has joined the combat. You can, however, add the appropriate aspect and force the Monster to leave.

Going along with that, say you draw the lawyer and you are a thief. It says it won't attack you due to professional curtesy. So going by what you are saying then you can't choose to fight it even though it won't fight you. What if you ditched your thief ability during combat so you no longer were a thief?

No, you can't. That is exactly what I meant when I said, "Any Monster that says it won't fight a certain type of character really won't fight that type of character and there's no time to remove that aspect from your character once the Monster has joined the combat."

But I thought you could always change class or race by discarding during combat. So ...

You can, but the monster leaves combat before you get a chance to do so. It would go like this:

1. Thief kicks down the door, draws Lawyers.
2. Lawyers leave combat.
3. Thief discards Thief, is no longer a Thief. Lawyers are still gone.

Can you discard class and race cards whenever you want? I thought they could only be changed with cards that specificly said so.

The rules are quite clear that you can discard Race or Class cards at any time on any turn. You can only play them on your turn, but can discard them on any turn.

Or if you just received it on someone else's turn. (Like during charity.)

Yup. The rules for Races and Classes are almost identical, in fact, so I'll just quote the one for Races.

Zeus_online: If you ever feel you need a review of the rules and don't happen to have a copy on hand, you can always check them here. Also, we have a FAQ that usually does a fantastic job of clearing up most of the general cases, and more than a few fringe cases.
