Default Lose 2 Level Monster

Some monsters say you Lose 2 Levels, even if you run away. This means you Lose 2 Levels right off the bat before the combat starts?

You won't suffer the level loss if you win the combat. But if you lose the combat, you will lose two levels then, whether you succeed the roll to Run Away or not.

No. Some monsters have stuff that happens to you before battle. The Tenticel demon says you lose an item before combat. THAT happens right away. If you beat the monster that says you lose two levels "even if you run away" means if you HAVE to flee and succeed you still lose two levels.

That's not fully correct. It also means you lose the two levels if you fail to Run Away too, unless the Bad Stuff also makes you lose two levels (in which case, it only happens once). The prime example would be King Tut; if you fail to run away from him, you lose two levels (from the even if you escape clause), and also all your Items and cards in your hand (from the Bad Stuff).

Right. Which is why I said EVEN if you run you lose them.

All posters, please remember that Munchkin 101 is not a discussion forum -- if you aren't directly answering a question, consider whether your comment should be posted somewhere else or sent as a private message instead (or whether it needs to be made at all).
