Question of Charm spell vs Wandering monsters
Say, I am a wizard, and I know someone has a wandering monster and a strong and bad monster in hand.
I meet a monster and I decide to use Charm spell to get rid of it (without telling anyone of coz). Then I suddenly discard my hand, and say I am using a Charm spell. Can the other play now add a wandering monster to my combat and get me in trouble? Thanks.. Sorry new to this game, and we have a very munchkin guy in our party. Many questions. |

Re: Question of Charm spell vs Wandering monsters
You cannot suddenly say "I charm the monster and combat's over gimme the treasure" without taking a breath. The other players are entitled to a chance to react to what you do -- in this case, by wandering in a second monster just after you charm the first one. You don't get any treasure until and unless you beat the new monster -- you can't charm one and then use its treasure against the remaining monsters in the fight.

Re: Question of Charm spell vs Wandering monsters
Thanks.. That makes sense.
One more question, if I say, I am going to use Charm spell, but just have not discarded my hand (thus the spell is not started). Then suddenly someone throws the wandering monster onto the table. So I have to face the two monsters simultaneously, and I cannot Charm each of them (can I?). Is that correct? Last edited by xelloss; 03-29-2010 at 03:28 PM. |

I suppose the answer is "no", because charm spell can only be used against one *single* monster, right? |

Re: Question of Charm spell vs Wandering monsters
You can charm 1 monster whether there's only 1 monster or 5 (or any number). And Then you can beat the rest of the monsters if you're capable.

Or, use some other card or ability to remove another Monster, and so on and so forth. The charm spell only works on (i.e., removes) one Monster. I did not say that you can use it only when you're facing one Monster.

Waiiiiit a second here. I remember I asked a question about Charm ability a few days ago. Forgot what topic it was in, but the verdict was "If you use Charm to remove one monster, you must battle the remaining monster(s) normally, without the use of other monster-removal cards or abilities" So, what the heck? |

Re: Question of Charm spell vs Wandering monsters
Now first, I didn't accuse you personally, since I don't remember who made that ruling.
I tried searching for it, but couldn't seem to find it, and just looking for "charm" yields a lot of results... |
