I have an idea:
Make different units out of eraser material. It is resilient and easy to sculpt...

Re: I have an idea:
With a dremel rotary tool anything is possible, trust me...
...then when you have the design JUST right, pour plaster of paris over it, make a cast and then cast as many other vehicles as you wish. |

Re: I have an idea:
Pink erasers tend to crumble rather than carve, even with a brand-new X-Acto.
You might hve better luck with a white gum eraser. But, really, if you're going to go to that much trouble, use plasticard. It's much easier to cut, carve, sand, create a mold, etc. Jeff |

Re: I have an idea:
I agree that the soft pink erasers would be no good for sculpting, and the art gum erasers would be best suited. They come in cubes or rectangles to start (not unlike a block of wood), and you can get them by the dozen for about 10$ US. The Dremel® would fast become your best friend with the art gum in hand.

Re: I have an idea:
Yeah I meant the white ones - in grade school I used to carve cool things in class from the pink ones - they essentially waste rubber...

Re: I have an idea:
Would it not be easier to use air dry modeling clay, that you can get at any art store?

Re: I have an idea:
But an Ogre made from an eraser sitting on your desk would make you the coolest geek in school...
