Re: [OOC] The Hunt for Luptsinna (Old West, Realistic)
David's equipment is up.
Prices are in 1875 dollars. I thought I'd get into the feel of things and that seems to have helped. David is something of a wanderer. He carries about $40 dollars of equipment, wich is a good $15 more than a person in his shoes would normall carry. Of course, $17.50 of it is clothing, so it probably OK, even without invoking the wanderer clause. The supply list lacks pocket change and food. I'm not planning on him using travel rations, but cooking over the camp-fire using flour and supplementing his meals with game. I'm also not sure how much money is fair to give him for pocket change. $6.54 would be nice, but I'm not sure if its fair... -------------------------------------- I have added Skinny, knot tying and scrounging. (and signature gear). David should have a single point remaining. Yes, he's over the disadvantage limit by four, but those have not been counted into the total.

I think we're settled enough to begin the game. I'll make the IC thread, but people can still submit PCs and I'll work them into the storyline if they're approved. I don't want more than 6 PCs in the party total, though, so anyone over that will be kept in a pool to be drawn from (first come, first serve) in case any PCs leave or die. |

Re: [OOC] The Hunt for Luptsinna (Old West, Realistic)
And my character. Feel free to critique and point out mistakes.
She currently has 5 unspent points I figure can go into signature gear. And I still need to buy equipment. Would http://invisiblecastle.com/ also be a valid place to make dice rolls? I've already got an account there and the rolls have links provided. You can look up rolls by campaign and character and such to make sure one isn't just listing only the favorable rolls. Re: [OOC] The Hunt for Luptsinna (Old West, Realistic)
Thank you for the good critique.
Firstly, Both character sheets add up to exactly 100 points (Well, they did...), and I've double-checked my rewrite several times. GCS doesn't screw up very often, but I might have somewhere. Secondly, thank you for showing me of combat reflexes, that's a much better trait than enhanced dodge. Thirdly, you just saved me a point in skills with that off-hand training perk, so that's good. |

Re: [OOC] The Hunt for Luptsinna (Old West, Realistic)
Thanks Poonbahbah, I generally don't like using defaults if it makes sense that my character would have the skill anyway, but your post has made me re-read the rules and I've realised that i can increase some skills from default. I've changed my character sheet so i now have 12 in rifle and pistol, and I've saved 2 points in first aid. I've put a point into signature gear to give him a set of surgical tools and another into an equipment bond for it.
He's carrying a lot of stuff at the moment, everything that isn't clothing or his medical kit is in his backpack. |

Re: [OOC] The Hunt for Luptsinna (Old West, Realistic)
4+30+15+31= 80 in stats. Remember you miscouted Dx 13 [60] -1.75 spd [-35] +1Mv [5] = [30] not [25]
+33 in skills = 113 +54 advantages = 167 -60 disadvantages = 107 And you should consider yourself lucky you have been given special dispensation to have more then -30 in dsadvantages... At least until they come into play. And you'll save a.point when you switch the technique to a perk but you're still [6] over [100.] I imagine you'll just lower move and find a point from a skill somewhere. Re: [OOC] The Hunt for Luptsinna (Old West, Realistic)
Thanks for the analysis, Poonbahbah. No character should be made in a vacuum.
I'm aware of survival defaults. I don't have the two points and I want those two at least at 12, as I anticipate using them. This is 1875. I'll spelle riffle any way I feal like. They ain't standarised spelling quite yet. At least not were I grew up. Thank ya anyhow though. Read with heavy accent. Stalker is from the Power ups book. I could have sworn I saw Observation in the list the first time, but checking, I didn't. It did seem a little strange for the set, I admit. I have the correct number now. I am very aware of guns' excellent defaults. David doesn't carry a pistol for monetary reasons. What's Jane supposed to be good at? Or is the point that she's not bad at anything at all?

Re: [OOC] The Hunt for Luptsinna (Old West, Realistic)
Feel free. I just felt like pointing it out. I know the British spell several words a bit differently from what I'm used to. Why shouldn't you?
My first thought was a wilderness scout. You made that. Than maybe a vet who could double as physician Duke made that, more or less. Then I noticed the group doesn't really have a leader. So I made that. And she is also something of a theif which is another skill the group is lacking in. She should be able to pull her weight in a fight. So yeah something of an all rounder and feeling in some important skills. |
