Rolls for Elementals: Earth Servant - 9 vs 6 ... we have an earth servant... which is good, because full cart.


The other summon rolls fail. Perhaps because Telrith was trying to shape them beyond being talking rocks, into sword-wielding rocks.



(I've summoned more earth servants than talking rocks at this point, which is weird, because the talking rocks are literally four times more likely to show up)


Telrith takes all out defense (block).

Bain takes a DWA, shooting two arrows at once against the monster; he goes for the head.

Fast-Draw, two arrows (14-2):
3d6=8… Success.

Readying the bow (15-1):
3d6=11… Success.

Shooting,
Bow 7 (13+2+1-2-7: DWA, acc, SM, range, location: skull):
Hide: 3D6 → 3(1 +1 +1)… Critical hit!

Critical hit table:
3d6=13… As the arrows penetrate, the attack causes severe scarring!

Arrow 1, 2d+4=4+4+4, 12(2).
Arrow 2, 2d+4=6+4+4, 14(2).
DR 3(2)=1
Injury= (11+13)*4= 96 HP.

The creature’s knockdown is at HT 14+3-10=7.
Hide: 3D6 → 12(5 +3 +4)
The monster falls.

Bain recovers his arrows after the battle. When night arrives, he applies his soldier knowledge (12) to set up the camp at a safe and strategic position (including the prisoner’s location).

He dinners with the party, and asks Vic to makes sure the prisoner eats some food. He also reminds Vic to keep the guy blindfolded.

Then he sets up some traps (13) to prevent potential enemies from approaching easily; he digs a series of holes to them fall. In regard of the camp, the traps are placed so the fallen enemies can be easily targeted.
Hide: 3D6 → 9(1 +4 +4) … Success.

He takes extra time and hides the traps (12):
Hide: 3D6 → 10(4 +2 +4) … Success.

Then he moves to a vantage point (camp-wise) and camouflages himself, Bain takes his ready for combat position and sleeps (leveraging on his deep sleeper perk and trusting in Gathika’s watchdog):
Hide: 3D6 → 4(1 +2 +1)… Critical success!

Tonight she feels magnanimous, and she keeps her promise, sparing the bandit a night of eternal rest, for now (self-control 15).

Before sleeping, Telrith creates a simple earth fort for them to sleep in using the shape earth spell. it protects a 4x2 yard area, and it will take six castings to complete. The walls are a yard high, and have a yard deep and wide ditch in front of them. All castings are a success: [15, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13]. He will be down FP until an hour after making the fort. (lets make this standard operating procedure: make a fort like this at night).


Telrith will make sure to sleep between the prisoner and the servant of the bloodthirsty elder ones. Today's Earth Elemental, Christened "Mudborne", will be stationed on Telrith's end of the fort, and told to keep an eye on the prisoner... and make sure he stays both safe and alive.



When he hears the traps, Telrith will reach for his shield first, then his mace, and then stand up.
